Yawn…\u00a0 Well of course it is.\u00a0 We’re old farm hands at technology change and that farm’s been bringin’ in a personal computing\u00a0crop for\u00a030 years.\u00a0\u00a0I get it.<\/p>\n

The reason\u00a0we should stop right where we stand in the middle of the field during\u00a0harvest time is this:\u00a0\u00a0When was the last time you\u00a0burst through the\u00a0front door with a new piece of technology and exclaimed, “It’s twice as fast as my old machine, and only cost half as much!”\u00a0 Has it been two years?\u00a0 Five years?\u00a0 More?\u00a0 We don’t \"BEAUTIFUL<\/a>talk about hardware technology advancement any more. \u00a0We talk about applications.\u00a0 We’re concerned\u00a0about\u00a0what we\u00a0DO with our new toys.\u00a0\u00a0This\u00a0represents a MAJOR shift in focus.\u00a0 Think about\u00a0what first time users (aren’t many around any more)\u00a0say when they show you their new smart phone…\u00a0\u00a0“I can do email,\u00a0Facebook, Twitter, text, watch\u00a0video,\u00a0TAKE\u00a0video, scan bar codes, get recipes,\u00a0Skype,\u00a0and…\u00a0I can even make phone calls.”<\/p>\n

We don’t\u00a0mention “the Internet”\u00a0anymore.\u00a0 We can\u00a0do\u00a0ANYTHING we want to with music.\u00a0 Well… you get the picture (and don’t forget to\u00a0take that picture and share it\u00a0with your phone).\u00a0 Our lives are now broken down into to two categories…Things that CAN be done\u00a0on our smart phone, and things that\u00a0CANNOT be done on our smart phone.<\/p>\n

Here’s the thing.\u00a0 The introduction of the original IPhone (which arguably ushered in this era)\u00a0was a minute ago in 2007.\u00a0 What makes this so important<\/strong> is that\u00a0it’s more than\u00a0good ol’ advancing technology; we are witnessing\u00a0CULTURAL change.\u00a0 The way in which\u00a0we consume information has changed.\u00a0 Has your business kept pace?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
