<\/a>Wait\u2026 a music genre that morphed into a competition!?\u00a0 Outside of the more mundane fiddle contests and battles of the bands, I can\u2019t think of anything that even touches this in terms of a quantum change in entertainment.\u00a0 This is unique.<\/p>\nWhen I first heard about this art form, I was clueless\/skeptical to say the least.\u00a0 After watching some of these battles on YouTube, I now believe\u2026\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0(WARNING:\u00a0 Explicit Lyrics, Urban Attitude, etc.).\u00a0\u00a0FYI, I have seen NOTHING in my twenty years in the entertainment\u00a0industry that compares to it.\u00a0 There are world leagues associated with this art form.<\/p>\n
Two competitors (usually from different geographic locations) with only tenuous social media knowledge of each other go into a ring.\u00a0 They have written several rounds of verbal abuse for their opponent and use these words as weapons.\u00a0 Nothing<\/b> is off limits.\u00a0 If they find out that their opponent\u2019s mother died of cancer, they will use it.\u00a0 Knocking the opponent out (making them freeze or lose lucidity) is the objective.\u00a0 There are unbiased judges that render decisions, but the fights are posted online for thousands to judge after-the-fact.<\/p>\n
While\u00a0Mud-Hut has\u00a0done hundreds and hundreds of Hip-Hop tracks over the years, ChronicLz is the only client to compete in world ranked Rap Battles while continuing to produce his own music.\u00a0 In 2009, at CJ’s suggestion, Mud-Hut hosted a battle that included Real Deal<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0(an internationally ranked battler and MC) and many other participants and fans.<\/p>\n Whether or not you like Hip-Hop, is irrelevant.\u00a0 If you like \u201cextremely<\/em> different\u201d, this artform\u00a0is worthy of\u00a0a one-time exploration.\u00a0 It’s crazy.<\/p>\n Again\u2026(WARNING:\u00a0 Explicit Lyrics, Urban Attitude, etc.)<\/p>\n
